The Strata Company has been working to increase the security around the complex for many years, this page shows a history of past work to improve security and plans to make the complex even more secure in the future.

Security Fencing and Automatic Vehicle Gates

- An owner raised the issue of complex security at the 2000 AGM. The item was discussed and it was agreed that investigations would be made by the strata company and further discussion would take place at the next AGM.
- An item is tabled and discussed at the 2001 AGM: "Possible Future Installation of Fences and Gates"
- An application is placed with the Town of Vincent for security fencing.
- Quotations are provided to owners at the 2002 AGM for discussion. It is decided that an EGM will be called in the following year to vote on security improvements.
- An Extraordinary General Meeting was held to approve a "Fencing and Security Project" which involved the installation of fencing all around the complex and the installation of 3 automatic vehicle gates.
- Security fencing and automatic gate installation is completed at the complex.
- 3 secure vehicle entry points
- 6 pedestrian entry points.

Permanent closure of two pedestrian entrances.

- The opening at the side of the Charles Street vehicle gate is closed with a fencing panel (/viewtopic.php?t=140).
- The gate at the west end of the visitor parking area is removed and replaced with a fencing panel.

Installation of new letterbox system
One of the challenges with securing the complex was the need for Australia Post to enter the property to deliver mail. One of the drivers for moving to a new letterbox system that was located along the existing fence line was increased security as no-one needs to enter the property to deliver mail.

- Levies are set to raise funds for the new letterbox system.
- Work starts to prepare for new letterboxes.
- New letterbox installation is completed.
- Old letterboxes are demolished and removed.

A security network is installed through sections of the building to allow security cameras to be installed.
After this piece of work is completed security cameras will be installed to monitor entry and carpark areas.

Under stair openings have been closed off in the front building as certain individuals were using these entrances to sneak around the building.

Funds are approved to secure the remaining two pedestrian entry points. This work will occur over between 2018 and 2019 with the Charles Street gate being the first gate to be secured.
At this time the plan will be to install new secure gates and proximity card/fob system and issue all residents with a card/fob.
We expect the first gate to be installed in Q2 2018.

Preparation works for the installation of new secure pedestrian gates has been compled.
This work includes:
- Installation of power to both gates.
- Installation of communications to both gates.
We expect work to start on the replacement of the gates in early 2019.
