05/09/2012 : Letter sent to owners Dear «Salutation», Re: Hot Water System Removal The Mews, Strata Plan - 5629 The Council of Owners has been advised you have an electric storage hot water system (HWS) installed within the plumbing duct on common property. Compulsory gas safety rectification works currently under way at the complex require this HWS to be removed to allow for the gas flues to be upgraded. There are two options available: 1. Remove the electric storage HWS and replace with an instantaneous gas HWS. The strata company has arranged a reduced price of $700 (+GST) if this work is performed at the same time as the safety rectification works and by the same contractor. 2. Relocate the electric storage hot water system into the bathroom/laundry area of the unit. Note that the use of electric storage hot water systems is no longer permitted at the complex and this hot water system cannot be replaced with another electric hot water system when its lifetime is exhausted.
