Minutes of meeting held on November 27th 2019 commencing at 18:00

Record of Attendance:
  • Mr S. Mailey
  • Mr S. Saunders
  • Mr D. Hawkins
Proxies:
  • None

Absent:
  • Ms B. Ng

Quorum:
  • A Quorum was Present with 75% of council members in attendance.

General Business:

Security/Surveillance program (/viewtopic.php?t=960):
- Discussion took place regarding the installation of security pedestrian gates and the next steps required.
- - Council agreed to progress with quote from ABA.
- - S. Mailey will engage ABA to start work as quoted.

Painting Program:
- Discussion took place regarding the next area of the building that would be painted.
- D. Hawkins commented that the clothesline ares of the rear buildings were in very bad condition and council agree with this observation.
It was agreed that;
- - Quotations will be sought and provided to council for review.

Front clothesline area:
- S. Mailey advised that renovations to the front clothesline area was almost completed with the exceptions of paving.
- Discussion took place and it was agreed that;
- - Quotes be obtained and presented to council.

Boundary fence replacement with 161 Charles Street
- S. Mailey advised that the work to replace the boundary fence with 161 Charles St had been completed.

Greening program - Boundary fence 161 Charles Street (/viewtopic.php?t=1973):
- S. Mailey advised that the area adjacent to the new fence needed replanting and presented options.
- Discussion took place and suggestions were made of suitable plants;
- It was agreed that;
- - S. Mailey would speak to the gardening contractor and arrange a quote to plant the area with the agreed plants (Viburnum)

14 Florence Street development:
- S. Mailey advised there were no new updates regarding the development of this land.

Increasing reports of Intruders entering property and related thefts and abuse of facilities:
- D. Hawkins discussed some of the recent events and how they could be avoided.
- Discussion took place regarding securing the facility and it was agreed that:
- - The only way to further secure the facility (effectively) was to prevent entry via the pedestrian gates.
- - S. Mailey agreed to refresh quotations and provide to council.

Bin area paving and curb levelling:
- S. Mailey advised that the bin area still needed new paving as 50% of the area was still sand.
- Discussion took place and it was agreed that;
- - S. Mailey agreed to refresh quotations and provide to council.

Bin area paving and curb leveling:
- D. Hawkins advised that the condition of the walkways was a concern as small chunks of concrete were falling off.
- S. Mailey advised that quotes had been sought and split into areas so that work could be tackled over a number of years.
- Discussion took place and it was agreed that;
- - I special budget and voting item would be added to the AGM agenda.

Items discussed not listed on the agend:

Cleaning of walkway floors/walls/ceilings:
- S. Mailey advised that the council had received queries from multiple owners regarding the condition of the complex and advised that the walkway areas of the front building were in particularly bad condition due to their proximity to Charles Street.
- Discussion took place and it was agreed that;
- - The strata council would review and investigate costs associated with cleaning and/or painting.

Closure:
- There being no further business the meeting closed at 19:00.
