Front security screen doors.

Front security screen doors are installed and maintained by the strata company and are kept to a standard color and style to make sure the look of the building is maintained. If you believe your screen door needs repair or replacement please contact the strata company using the following link:

Rear security screen doors.

Rear security screen doors are installed and maintained by the owner of the unit and are subject to the same requirements as other modifications. These screens must meet the requirements set by the strata company to ensure all door and window screens are of a uniform standard.

Window security screens are installed and maintained by the owner of the unit and are subject to the same requirements as other modifications. These screens must meet the requirements set by the strata company to ensure all door and window screens are of a uniform standard.

  • Failure to gain approval may result in removal of the screen door/window at the owners* expense.
  • Failure to adhere to the requirements may result in removal of the screen door/window at the owners* expense.

Post subject:  Security screen door and window standards

Security Doors/Screens MUST meet the following Australian Standards:
  • Australian Standard AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003 – Security Testing
  • Australian Standard AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003 – Grille Shear Test
  • Australian Standard AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003 – Knife Shear Test
  • Australian Standard AS1530.4-2005, Appendix B7 – Fire Attenuation Test
  • Australian Standard AS1170.2-1989 – Cyclonic Missile Impacts
  • Australian Standard AS1170.2-2002 – Cyclonic Missile Impacts
In addition to the above the following additional requirements exist:
  • Frame colour should be brown - to match existing installations at the complex.
  • Mesh should be amplimesh supascreen 316 marine grade woven stainless steel finished in black.
  • Screens on windows should cover only the opening section of the window (50%)
  • Screens on rear sliding doors should cover only the opening section of the door (50%)

The picture attached shows amplimesh supscreen 316 marine grade woven stainless steel.
